[MUSIC PLAYING] Welcome to the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas. Every year, it's where film, music, and emerging technologies collide in one exciting city, arguably, the country's live-music capital. But for the next few days, the festival is welcoming a very special guest, NASA, and a full-scale model of the next great space observatory, the James Webb Space Telescope. 

The Webb is the successor to the legendary Hubble Space Telescope and will be launched in 2018. Following up on the groundbreaking discoveries of Hubble, Webb will look more than 13 billion years back in time to see how galaxies grew, how stars and planets form, and search for habitable worlds.
